Christina is heading into her 9th year of coaching! She got a later start in the sport of gymnastics at the age of 11 and competed for 4 years. She also competed in a year of All-star Cheer, as well as played 5 different sports throughout college. She has noticed that no matter what she is doing in life, she has always found her way back to coaching. It Is truly one of her greatest passions! She has coached kids of all ages and abilities and loves teaching physical skills as well as skills they can carry with them outside of the gym! We are very excited to have her as a part of our Pooler Cheer Team!
Coach Sunny was introduced to competitive gymnastics early on in life but later switched to competitive cheerleading due to her love for tumbling. She has played many other sports throughout her life and has always loved working with children. In 2022 she moved from Hawaii to Georgia and is currently in school to become a medical aesthetician. When it comes to coaching, she works very hard to be a safe space for our athletes and wants to teach respect on the mat. Working with so many children with different abilities has inspired her to help them embrace their special talents and skills. As a coach her biggest goal is to send a child off the mat more confident than when they came in, because believing in themselves is the first step to success! She is excited for this upcoming session and can’t wait to work with your kids!
Heather has been working with the Pooler Cheer program for about 2 years. She did 3 years of gymnastics, so she mostly coaches during our tumbling program. Heather takes pride in her Mexican American heritage as she is one of our Spanish speaking Instructors. She is also a Karate Instructor and is currently training for her 2nd Degree Black Belt. She loves working with kids because they are adorable and she loves to see the spark in their eyes when they learn a new skill or see something exciting. She just recently graduated high school and says that “although sometimes I may feel like I have nothing left to learn, the kids always find a way to teach me something new. It warms my heart to see the future generations become better people, cheerleaders, and gymnasts that I ever was.”
